The twinartichokes story

We create bespoke motoring themed digital imagery for private clients, collectors, enthusiasts, commercial organisations and publishers.

Twinartichokes is a collaboration of creative skills including design, typography, illustration, arts and crafts acquired over many years and numerous cups of coffee by graphic artist/illustrator Katherine Reeve and designer/storyteller James Nairn.

James Nairn began his motor sport apprenticeship in the grassy paddocks and greasy cafeterias of the 1970s sharing the company of competitors who lived on the ragged edges of club motorsport.

Racers who chased their dreams with greater amounts of determination, hope and resourcefulness than cash. Late nights, grubby fingernails, early starts and tin trophies.

All twinartichokes illustrations start with a cup of coffee and are constructed from initial sketches, photographic references, and influenced by the story waiting to be told.

The illustrations are hand rendered with layers of flat colours used to create tints and textures, building these collages into finished digital artworks, which can then be scaled for a wide range of applications from large format banners, framed pictures or workshop mugs.
